Counting Down...

Yeah... Another week in camp has passed. 5 more working days to the start of my leave. Man, can't wait for that to happen...

However, the price of freedom is always high. Because of LRI, SP1 has 1 more week of SK fatigue work to complete before I can take my flight. Life these few weeks in camp has been so mundane. We wake up, have our breakfast, have PT for an hour before doing store/armskote for the whole day. Yes, the whole day. All because of the stupid LRI. Damn. Why does the Army has so many checks every year? It's so irritating 'cos we(the men) have to wayang big time. Well, everyone knows the army is one big studio. Either you wayang with the bosses or you can kiss your privileges goodbye.

Went for dental FFI on wednesday with 5 other guys from the platoon. Was almost dragged into doing SK for THE MASTER when Conghan, our ever-so-friendly/intelligent OCPA told us that we could go for the FFI that day instead of the 13th of April. Well, a day off coupled with a night off sounded like a deal too irrisistable so we had no choice but to accept. Dental FFI is quite important 'cos it allows us to complete clearance for ord but it's quite a waste of time. Had to rush down to SAFTI. Journey to and fro camp took like 4 hrs but the checkup only lasted 30 secs! A few of us went to Bugis that evening. I have always loved Bugis Junction. It's a great place not only for shopping, but food, arcade, books and the Central Library's not to far either. I think I'll be frequenting there quite often when I'm in SMU next time. Can't wait for studies to start!

Playing soccer tmr at tpjc as usual. Hopefully I'll not be 'tua' again.

Oh man what a weekend!

Before I start, let me say this: HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALAN!

Alan has been a friend of mine since pri 3. That's 12 years FYI. He's kinda emotional and one nice guy to talk to. Sensible as well but I remember we squabbled over some stupid things in pri 5 when we were grouped together for some stupid social studies project. He must be feeling kinda sad now 'cos his girlfriend is in Australia studying but I think the cds gang more than made up for her absence yesterday. It was perhaps the most heart-warming and moving birthday gathering I've ever been to and all thanks to Yongbin, Jfeng, BH, Weili and Maggie for making it so wonderful. Rushed to Lan's chalet as soon as I finished S19 gathering. More on that later. And cheers to CDS '01 too coz almost everyone was there! Anyway, you're a grown-up now so yea take care of yourself dude.

Oh yea S19 gathering was quite good too but we were missing a few faces yesterday. A total of 14 pple turned up. It was kinda awkward meeting each other in the beginning 'cos we haven't met up for quite some time but everyone was warmed up in the latter part. Great food, some ok games( as usual Murderer/Polar Bear/ Card-water game) but many thanks to Mrs Koh for allowing us to have the gathering at her place. As usual Linxi was the loudest friendliest around, but I can't imagine a gathering without him. He's the only one who can entertain us without really entertaining. Almost all the guys have already ORD-ed except for Linxi and I so there was a bit of showing-off by the 'civilians' about their pink ICs. Hmm. Wait till I get mine. Less than 70 days to go. Nothing much has changed for the gals, partly because I still keep in touch with some of them. Credit goes to Kenny aka class rep for organising the gathering. Let's hope that most of us will still stay in touch even as we move on.

Just came back from the Natas fair held at Suntec City. Went there with Des and Drew. We wanted to check out some deals for our HK trip. Yea we're planning to travel from 15 to 19 May. The fair was super-packed despite an admission fee of 3 bucks. S'poreans just want to travel no matter the cost. Well we did check out some deals for HK but they were kinda unsatisfactory. We however decided that we will travel free and easy. Good news for me 'cos I hate going on group tours. It's almost army-like. You know, the 'Wake up this time' 'Go where this time', 'Gather back at this place at this time' kind of thing. Hate it. We have not booked our trip yet but it'll most probably be with Farmosa. Their deals are the best in town so far. What puzzles me is that the Natas fair is not a fair where you can find the best deals, which I had always thought so. It's more of a fair where all the large/small tour agencies come together so that you can choose the deal that suits your needs the most. The prices of each destination varies from agency to agency so next time if you decide to travel it would be best to check many agencies before you take the plunge.

Anyway, it's back to camp for me tmr. Lucky for me that I have a physio session so Lt Bay allowed me to go directly from home instead of booking in on Sunday night. 2 more weeks to go.

It's a tough road to Freedom.

Another day, Another Time

Oh man. It has been a REALLY long time since I've written. Been lazy busy..

Went to scout around People's Park Centre with Des, Drewie and Andy for the supposed trip to Krabi. Not exactly the organising committee but some guys people had to do the job. Well in the end, the trip was cancelled last monday. Had originally wanted it to be a 4D outing after the guys ord/before the gals started their third year kinda thing but in the end not many gals could make it so we had to forgo the trip. Well prolly organise another one next time.

Des, Drew and I also checked out details for our planned HK trip too. Hopefully we'll get more juice when we visit the Natas Fair on Sunday. It's gonna be some hell at suntec I feel. S'poreans just wanna travel.

Yeah! S19 is having its annual gathering. Again. At Mrs Koh's house. Hmm I think the last time we went there was almost 2 years ago so I'm looking forward to meeting the people. Great bunch of classmates I had during J2.

And Alan is having his birthday party as well. Oh well it's at a chalet so I think i'll go after the gathering. Alan and I go a long way back( since pri 3) so he'll understand I hope. Looking forward to meeting pri sch friends too!

Well post details about the gathering and Alan's chalet soon...

Your Computer Is Restarting in 60 Seconds

Haven't got much to write about today.... Kinda boring for the past 2 days.

Oh ya, my computer crashed.

When I came home on tuesday, guess my horror when I turned on the computer. It just said:

Your Computer Is Restarting In 60 Seconds

WHY?

Viruses, trojans, worms, spyware, adware all rolled into one big hell of an apocalypse. Darn. If I were to ever meet some guy who created spyware, I'll give him some nice treat in the face, he'll never look himself in the mirror again.

It's just so frustrating when the computer crashes. Every important information in the computer is now lost. In case of you thinking I'm a fool to not use antivirus/firewall softwares, you're wrong. Antivirus softwares need to be updated regularly because viruses are being created on such a frequent basis so that the softwares can block out the infidels. I use Norton Antivirus but after a year it requires you to pay them regularly to update your software. So in all of our "wisdom" my dad and I decided that it would not be very worthwhile to pay those 'premiums'.

Turned out to be big mistake. But I'll learn from it. In fact I'm already learning from it. Recently had a website introduced to me by my dad's colleague. It helps to scan your computer for any unwanted visitors and helps destroy them. You all can give it a try. Website address is
