Yes, I confess that I'm a fan of the series only after just 7 episodes. It's one "fracking" good show!
Story revolves around a Human space battleship, Galactica that survived the onslaught of an invasion from their adversaries: the artificially created Cylons, who rebelled against their creators on the day of the battleship's decommissioning. All of the human Colonial Defence's ships crumbled to the invasion because their "networked" systems were infiltrated by the Cylons and their agents. The Galactica survived because it was the oldest battleship and was not "networked", therefore the Cylons could not shut down the ship's system. The rest of the series depicts the humans' escape from the Cylons and their quest to find their 13th lost Colony, Earth.
It is a great series, especially for those who like StarTrek. The effects are also good. For e.g. sound cannot be heard in space so there are no spectacular laser shows like the Star Wars. Instead, the producers chose to use toned-down sounds for a more realistic show. The series also focuses a lot on relationships and emotions so it is not just for the geek alike. My mother kind of enjoys the series too. Haha.
